Mid-year: a tax checklist for sole traders (June)

June 20, 2026

June is a good moment for a quick check: payments up to date, billing against the cap, aguinaldo if you have an employee, and the IRPF campaign. A simple checklist to reach year-end calm.

We've hit the middle of the year: the ideal moment for a quick check to avoid December surprises. You don't need to be an accountant; reviewing five things is enough to stay calm. Here's the checklist.

1. Are you up to date with your due dates?

Check that you've paid your monthly obligations (IVA mínimo or general IVA, advances, BPS contributions) through last month. Your dates depend on the last digit of your RUT. DGI's official due-date calendar is here:

2. Check your billing against the cap

Add up what you've billed so far this year and project it to December. If you're on track to exceed the monotributo or Literal E cap (305,000 UI), it's wise to switch regime ahead of time and avoid irregularity. Better to see it in June than in November.

3. Aguinaldo, if you have an employee

If you have staff, the first half of the aguinaldo is paid before 30 June. Budget for it: it's a cost on top of the month's salary.

4. The IRPF/IASS campaign

From May to August the annual IRPF and IASS campaign runs. If, besides your activity, you had labour income or need to settle the year, check whether you must file (and note: there's often a refund in your favour).

5. Keep your DGI constancia handy

Download an up-to-date constancia (the RUT card, F. 6906) and save it. Banks and clients will ask for it, and it also lets you confirm your registered data and obligations are still correct.

The June checklist

  • Monthly due dates paid and up to date.
  • Year's billing projected against the cap.
  • Half-aguinaldo budgeted (if you have an employee).
  • IRPF/IASS situation reviewed.
  • DGI constancia downloaded and saved.

In short: five checks in June save you a scramble in December. Tributo builds your personal calendar with every due date and estimated amount, so this review takes minutes. When in doubt, ask your accountant.
