What you need first

The procedure is online, so first make sure you have your access set up:

• Usuario gub.uy at verified/intermediate security level (or electronic ID card, Abitab's Identidad Mobile, Antel's TuID).
• An authenticated BPS user associated with the taxpayer doing the procedure.

The electronic domicile

A requirement many overlook: you must establish an electronic domicile with the BPS. It's the official inbox where the BPS notifies you.

Per the official procedure:

«Los titulares así como los representantes que no tienen restricciones en su actuación, deben constituir domicilio electrónico ante BPS.»

In English: The owners as well as representatives without restrictions in their action must establish an electronic domicile with the BPS.

How it's done
